He’s also very good with quick, short dribbling and has good finishing, both from short and long range. Also to mention is his ability on set plays, delivering the ball well from corners and indirect free kicks. Prefers the right foot.
Tactical description: When the team organizes play he likes to be a part of every action, picking up the ball from the defenders and offering his playmaking qualities to the game. He’s also strong in transition moments, quickly arriving in finishing positions. At PSV most of the games are not demanding but if Afellay moves to more competitive leagues, he’ll need to be more aggressive both defensively and offensively.
